Websphere MQ - How to set the MQMD-Report Field in a message

Post by rager »

Hi,
The requirement is to request for a COA (confirmation of arrival) message when the message reached the destination queue.
There is facility in the MQ stage where you can enter the reply-to-q and reply-to-qmgr.
Where can I specify the MQMD - report field?

Thanks,
Rager

I know that you can do this at Version 8, but cannot recall if it is possible in versions before that.

Thanks ArndW, for your reply.
I checked the fields in the MQ stage GUI and could not find anythign that looked like an MD report field.

Could you please tell me how this was achieved?

Thanks,

As Arnd notes, you can't set the Report header field in the MQPlugin, only in the version 8 MQ Connector. The older MQ Plugin had minimal support for reply messages, among others. The Connector supports a far larger variety of MQ message type and options for both reading and writing to MQ Series. In the connector, the Report option is a "pull down" menu item, where the confirmation possibilities can be selected.

Ernie, Thanks for your reply.
It looks like I will have to use a third party plugin or a custom built adapter.
