rejecting rows while updating in oracle

are there any duplicate records on the update key columns?
check for dead locks in database?
in the monitor can you see the processing time changing, if the the processed row is not changing?

i have created different jobs for each columns to update...is it a good approach or does it creates extra overhead compared to all the columns with separate links in single job
