Triggering ABAP program in SAP

I am trying to trigger a ABAP program that resides on SAP using the ABAP stage. Is this possible? I am aware that the ABAP program can be created and uploaded using the ABAP stage but I am interested to know whether can it also trigger/execute existing ABAP programs.

The current ABAP stage settings that I am using is as below:-
Data Transfer Method: RFC
Generation Method: Enter program as text

Somehow it runs forever and the process doesn't seem to end in DataStage Director but it has completed running in SAP.

Can someone me advise on this?
