Regarding DS 8 migration

Post by info_ds »

Hi All,
I have a question regarding DS 8 .
We are using Datastage 7.5.2 both( Parallel and server ) and we just want to migarte Jobs to datastage 8 .

My doubt if i want to migrate jobs to datastage 8 can i migrate even the server jobs to datastage 8 version?

one of my team member has told that Datastage 7.5.2 server job cannnot be migarted to datastage 8.Is this statement true?

Thanks in advance.

You asked two questions, I gave you two answers. I'm not sure what kind of information you would be looking for, so please ask more detailed questions if you need to.

"Can i migrate even the server jobs to datastage 8 version?" Yes.

"Datastage 7.5.2 server job cannnot be migarted to datastage 8. Is this statement true?" No.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a better informed consultant. Yes, just import them like always.

I've got DataStage 8 running on my laptop with server, parallel and sequence jobs all running. I've got a DSEngine directory with all the UV files in it and all the server job Universe stuff like BASIC routines and hash files are fully supported. I would recommend exporting your DataStage projects, uninstalling all DataStage components and installing the new release as a clean install and importing your projects.
