Error while importing a dsx file

I am getting the following error while I am importing a job which is in 8.0 version in to DS 7.5 version
"file.dsx does not appear to be a valid DataStage export file or is from an incompatible release."

Is it not possible to import a job which is in a different version?.

Please help.

To a higher release, yes - but not to a lower release.

You may be able to 'trick' it by editing the .dsx file and changing the version information in the file, but that really wouldn't be supported if it all went sideways.

Anyone tried that? I don't have 8.x to play with, so can't. I don't even know if the .dsx format has undergone any 'improvements' specific to the 8.x release or if it survives basically intact in that version...
