Read Only Projects

Post by ralleo »

Hi

I have a Protected project in v7.1r2, using Protect Project in Administrator .This makes the project read-onlyand no changes can be made to jobs.
However, it appears user can delete individual jobs within this protected project. I can verify this as I have tried it myself. Although I have given users, operator status as dsopt in .operator.adm, you can still delete jobs. Any ideas how to stop jobs being deleted in Protected Projects.

ASAIK, there is no way to stop anybody from deleting jobs (thought the project is protected or even if the jobs are read-only)

No fish today

Finding answers is simple, all you need to do is come up with the correct questions.

A Protected project will only allow 'dsadm' type users to delete jobs, a 'normal' user will not be able to. That's how it is in 7.5.x but perhaps that functionality is not in the early releases. You'd need to verify that with Support, I would think.
