Teradata Hash Algorithm and DS partitioning

Post by trobinson »

I'm new to Teradata and used to DB2. Is there a way to read/write to Teradata, in parallel, the same way one can in DB2. That is, in DB2 one can partition a table and then read/write by nodenumber into a given set of partitions in a DS job without re-partitioning. Likewise the data can be sorted and partitioned for the write into the proper db2 partition without collection. Can this be done in Teradata? By AMP?
In other words, I'd like to use Teradata as either a source or target and run a DS EE job without having to partition, re-partition or even collect the the data into a single stream. Can it be done?
