Migration from Datastage Server to Datastage Enterprise

Post by mchaves »

Hi There,

Just would like to check with the gurus online, if it's possible to migrate straigth away the current sequences/jobs we have in the datastage server to enterprise withou needing to transform them into parallel jobs.

We dont need yet the parallelism.

Thanks

Sequences and Server jobs are identical in the Enterprise edition (with the same version) and don't need any conversion. The Enterprise PX environment is an addition to the normal server environment and doesn't replace it.

Yes we can do so. Only that we have to recompile all the jobs again after we import it in the enterprise edition.

If you export with job executables you do not even need to recompile. That said, recompiling isn't a bad idea, if only to check that you have not missed any dependent components. And, of course, don't forget to license server as well as enterprise when installing Enterprise Edition.
