Post by Poornagirija »

HI FOLKS,
I have created some jobs and i have saved it in subfolder like Layer1jobs\Load1.
I have to run those jobs using sequencer.

How to attach those jobs which are saved under folder.

We are working in DataStage7.5 server editon.

Any help please...

Many thanks in advance..

They are there... keep looking! The categories don't show in the job picker and the order they display in can be a little confusing at times, but all jobs are there.

Could it be that you opened up the designer sequence object before the jobs were placed in the subfolder (I've done that before and ended up re-indexing the project and complaining before realizing that all I needed to do was a "refresh")

HI,
First i have created all the jobs under folder like
Layer1\Folder1\jobs
I have compiled those jobs.
Then i started creating a sequence for them,i struck  when i couldnt find any of my jobs under the folder and the OK button was disabled eventhough the folders were clicked.

Any idea :?:
Thanks in advance

Can you find any jobs at all or are just the ones in subcategories missing?

Whatever is happening in this project is not normal. Do you have other projects on your system and do you have the same problem there? If not, then you might have a corrupted project or at least broken indices. You can try re-indexing using the DS.TOOLS command

HI,
I have checked in another project,no such problem there.
I think we have to re-index.

Thanks for your response. :)

Hopefully that fixes it, as they should have all shown up - and a blown index would go a long way towards explaining the behaviour.

 A tip for creating Sequencers that I had no idea you could do until I saw someone else do it. Instead of adding an 'empty' Job Activity stage to the canvas and then scolling through the list of jobs looking for the right one - drag the job itself from the repository browser directly onto the canvas and drop it there. It will automagically get converted to a Job Activity stage that runs that job. Sweet!

Routines will do the same thing, but to a Routine Acitivity stage of course.
