Kaushik,
first of all, try to connect using the administrator client program. If you login to the using telnet and you userid/password and attach to the directory "cat `/.dshome`" do you have access rights, at least R? If, from this directory, you issue "./bin/dssh" do you enter the datastage shell program and get a ">" prompt (you exit back to your shell with the "QUIT" command)? Attach to a project directory and see if your UNIX access rights as a user and/or group are sufficient.
If everything seems fine, then try to beg/borrow/steal or otherwise get to use the root user id and password and see if you can enter the administrator. If that still fails then it would seem that access rights are not the issue. This is a bit unlikely, so we should cross that bridge when we get to it.
