Hi,
hmmm, assuming you have no DS training.
did not try searching this forum.
are you RFIing (Requesting For Information) or got the product and was dropped in the cold waters with no clue?

in short it is a GUI design of a sequence of events/activities that serves as a wrapper for a logical process (may contain other sequences).

(Late insert: the above is for a sequence job, see next post by Ray for sequencer stage)

IHTH,

A Sequencer, to be pedantic, is like a link collector in a Job Sequence.
Its output(s) can be triggered if Any, or only if All, of its inputs have been triggered. Any/All is the only configurable property of a Sequencer, apart from its name, size and position on the canvas, of course.

rofmlao  ,
got cought in my peer's demise!
my peers call a sequence job sequencer, tough I try correcting them, I guess they corrupted me

my post was refering to the sequence job not sequencer stage, Thank Ray for correcting this mitake

you can also think of it as a syncronizing point in your sequence.

(roflmao = rolling on flor laghing my axx off)

I suspect Narayana, along with your peers, was using "Sequencer" to mean "Job Sequence".

But I do prefer to use correct terminology (pedantic? do a search for apostrophe!), even when Ascential's own manuals and training materials fail to do so!

A Job Sequence, as Roy said, is a graphical user interface that can construct job control code; that code can be viewed, once the Job Sequence has been compiled, in the job properties window.

It's "it's" when it's "it is", but it's "its" when it's not.
