Running Cognos Turbo Integrator process using Datastage

Does anybody have experience running the Cognos TI process from Datastage and how to do it?
I know there is a Cognos TM1 Connector in Datastage. As per my analysis, that is only used for reading and writing the data from/to Cognos TM1 Cubes/Dimensions/Views. Please let me know if my understanding is not correct.
