1)where to place the print statement present in below url.Is it in datastage or outside of datastage or where to execute it?

It's BASIC code so anywhere that can be used... routines, job control, etc.

PRINT statement should be avoided. I have left them in routines by accident. Normally it prints to the log. Create a routine and try it.
