Quality stage or both Designer and QualityStage?

Post by midmaxds »

Hi,
My version of Designer Client shows as "IBM InfoSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer" Version 11.3.0.0
(Help --> About DataStage designer)

So, does that mean QualityStage is already installed in the server? Or do I need to purchase and install a Separate pack for QualityStage?
I am trying to identify the difference.

Kindly advise and let me know if more details needed.

DataStage and QualityStage are separate components of the InfoSphere suite and can be bought as part of various packaging options.

The Designer is the client, which works with both DataStage and QualityStage components (depending on which server component you buy).

Thank you for the response.
But how can I confirm if we have quality stage components installed?

If QualityStage is installed you can view his components from the "Data Quality" section on the palette when a job is open.

You should also be able to confirm what was or wasn't installed by your Admin or whomever did the actual install. Plus I believe there may be a manifest file (XML perhaps) on the server showing the installed components and their versions. May be. :wink:

That would be the Version.xml file on client and server (or on each tier).

Yes, I could see the Data Quality section in palette and around 14 stages in them. Thanks!

I would also check your entitlement document, so as to ensure that someone has not simply installed IIS "with the lot" irrespective of what you actually have licensed.

Thank you all.
Verified the Version.xml and confirmed that Quality stage is installed.
