Datastage 7x to 11x

Post by karthi_gana »

All,

is it possible to upgrade Datastage 7.5 version to Datastage 11.1 directly?

I heard we can't move like that. First we have to migrate the jobs to 8x version and then 8X job needs to be migrated to 11x.

Inputs are welcome!

I have not heard that before.

I would think you install and configure the newest release, then export each old project and import into each new project.

Here are a few links for you to research.

did you try upgrading directly? From what I recollect, pre-7.5 is not directly supported and for that you need to move to 7.5 and then to higher versions.

Will have to wait and see if anyone has some experience doing that. But I doubt if it be answered before monday due to holidays.

Is it 11.3 or 9.1? as you have mentioned 11.1

and yes, you still may need to change a few stages which are not supported in 11.3 for example ABAP CPI-C

You should be good for direct upgrade apart from the things I mentioned there.

Hi, I would suggest ( if you have the access to newest version then) try to export few jobs from 7.5 and import in 11.
We recently migrated lots of jobs from 7.5, 8.1 to version 9.

Thanks
