isrecovery tool backup/restore

Does the isrecovery tool provided within 9.1.2 really work for taking backups along with restore? We tried backup but then it won't restore. Is isrecovery tool something reliably used for backups and restore within datastage?

What does "won't restore" mean? What happened when you tried?

It appear lot of restores happened(engine,service,DSODB) when it came to projects recovery failed with the error below:

Figured from IBM a few things, which makes this tool no more relevant.
1. isrecovery tool is deprecated, it's not there already in 11.3
2.For the use case of us using this before an outage, is recovery tool can't be used. It's more of a disaster recovery tool, expects a clean install to be done first.
I'll close this post as the tool is dead.
