when trying open a job in a folder the designer is closing

In ver 8.1.1 we are trying open the job in designer but the designer client is closing where as other jobs in another folder in the same project are accessible .4
note our client is on citrix .

Is your server side Version.xml matching the same release and patch level as your client citrix side?
How old is your environment? (is it brand new and this is truely a first time use?)

this is new project recently created .
jobs from protected project are een export and imported into a newly created project.
when we open jobs in few folders they are opening just fine but when we open jobs in other folders then designer client is closing .
both server and client version.xml files are same.
In this environment we have other projects . they are working well.

Does this mean that nobody, on any client, can open this job? Have the jobs been exported to this protected project with sources or only with object code?

The person who imported the jobs... is his/her user id credentials on the server side set up correctly?
Go to your project directory and look at the file permissions associated with those job entries.
Look at a functional one, then look at as broken one.

Which flavor of Unix are you using? Are there are any specific stages in the jobs that you are not able to open?
