DataStage Migration from AIX to Linux

Post by elavenil »

Hi DataStage Gurus,

We are in the process of migrating DataStage from AIX to RHEL Linux. What are things to be considered in the migration? Is there any performance degradation when DS is migrated from AIX to Linux?

Is there any CPU benchmark between IBM AIX and RHEL Linux?

Please share your experiences that help us in this planned migration.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

There are some differences in UNIX commands between the two environments (for example options on the head / tail commands). So you'll need to examine your shell scripts very closely to insure compatibility.

AIX has more monitoring and recoverability than most UNIX systems, so it has a slightly higher overhead. The hardware will have a bigger impact on any performance differences you will see.

I don't know of any benchmarks that are available.
