Pre-requisites checks after upgrade virtual to physical(V2P)

Hi Team,

We have received an request, to preparing the check list after upgrading the virtual to physical DataStage server.

There is no changes on the metadata server.

Metadata server is pointing to virtual server only.

As I know ,I have prepared some check list after upgrading the server.

1) Verify the user "dsadm" is mapped to the "dstage" group or not?

2)Configure/deploy the Projects/jobs.

3)Verify the config file and other files.

4)Verify the Database connectivity and files(tnsname.ora and .odbc.ini)

5)Check the firewall ports,server names and IP address

Please provide me the steps or pre-requisites if anyone worked for this requirement.

DataStage version details:

DS v8.1 FixPack1 environment (OS - Red Hat Linux v5.7)

Please let us know if any.

I didn't know that one could convert a virtual (WMWare?) machine to a physical one; I always thought that one needed to do a new install on the physical machine and copy the software/data over. Or will the new machine just be a VMWARE host to the same virtual image?

Here, there is no conversion from virtual to physical sever.
Yes Arndw,as you mentioned new install (DataStage server) on the physical machine and copy the software/data over.

After configuration the software/data, We need check list for verifing the physical server.

Please advice.
