DB2 Connector for DB2 AS/400

Post by Torn »

Hi all
Does Datastage V9.1 DB2 Connector support connection to DB2 iSeries?
I catalogued the iSeries on db2inst1 in local DB2 for Linux and connected from local DB2 to remote iSeries successfully.

In Version 8.5 in connection with iSeries V6R1 we had an issue with the "Lock Wait Mode"-option in DB2-Connector. iSeries V6R1 does not support the parameter, so it throws a warning when a Lock Wait Mode-clause is included in the SQL-statement.

IBM tends to solve such issues by making the iSeries more tolerant to unknown clauses. iSeries V7R1 for example does accept tablespace clauses even though there is no concept of tablespace in the architecture of the iSeries. The database simply ignores the clause. Maybe this is also the case for the Lock Wait Mode clause in later versions of the iSeries.

We have the version V5R3 and get more hard errors - undefined objects(tables, routins).
I've connected over ODBC Connector but I think this is workaround.
