Timeout trying to install

Post by Torn »

Hi all

I'm trying to install IIS 9.1 on Linux server, setup write

======> Enter one of the following URLs to your web browser to begin the install
ation process:
http://infosphere:8084/ISInstall
https://infosphere:8445/ISInstall

But my browser can't connect to this address. Timeout.
I can ping linux server from my client computer, there aren't any firewalls between us. Netstat show listening on 8084 and 8445 port. No log files created by IIS.

Try replacing the domain name "infosphere" with the IP address of the server or add "infosphere"'s entry in hosts file of the system where you are trying to open the link which anyways you need to do if you are planning to use the computer for connecting to the server using GUI.

This problem comes generally as the installer gives you the link assuming that the hostname can be resolved from the computer you are using to connect to server.
