Migration from OWB to datastage

Post by vamsi.4a6 »

In our account we have 1000 OWB Jobs approximately, these Jobs to be migrated to NEW tool Datastage.

1)I do not know how to proceed could anybody please help me how to proceed for migration?
2)Do we have any tool like connector Migration to achieve my requirement?

AS of now I am analyzing existing Jobs in OWB.

I would continue along the path you are on - analyse the logic and reproduce it using DataStage.

There may be conversion tools (I am not aware of any, but IBM are always keen to nab Oracle sites, so may be prepared to help). In my experience, however, the results produced by conversion tools, even where functionally correct, are usually sub-optimal.

Don't expect or force a one-to-one conversion, either. 'Reproduce it using DataStage' means the logic / work being performed, not the number of steps involved - although they could be similar.

Absolutely no other conversion tools, but re-write using DS.
