Hi Friends,

I would like to know how to retrieve the Job Annotation and Job Description using dsjob command. I have around 500 jobs ..I need to validate whether the job annotation and job description is missing in any of the job.

I tried with all the commands in Dsjob, but i could not get the above detail.

Kindly help me out and suggest if there are any other options for the same.

Thanks in Advance!!!

There is no option within the dsjob.exe calls that will give you that information.
There is no simple way to do this, but perhaps doing an export into XML format and then parsing that file for the short and long descriptions is the easiest way.

Does the 'job report' that one can generate from the command line contain this information? Is it in a format that can be parsed out / detected?

You could get in the html document. If that is what Criag is talking about. When you generate job documentation.

You could get it in SQL.

Craig's not really sure what he's talking about, hence the plethora of question marks.

With no way to test anything, just trying to point the OP in a (possibly) helpful direction. Thanks for the clarification!
