Unable to start the server

Getting this error while trying to start the server Server1. Need advice

Program exiting with error:
com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.NoServerDefinedException: No
configuration defined for server: Server1
To obtain a full trace of the failure, use the -trace option.

Is this a new installation or has DataStage worked before on this system. If it has worked before, what changes were made between the time it worked and now?

Is the WebSphere Application Server instance server1 already running when you try to start it?

Do you specify the name of the instance in your startServer.bat command?

It is working now. Tried with -trace option
