XP is not a supported operating system for the server components.

Sorry, But I have installed DS 8.5 server on 2 systems which is running XP, One is running fine and other one is facing this issue.
So I think this is not the reason for this issue.
Thanks for ur comment

For 8.5 server components on Windows platform, only Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 are supported. You may think you have a working version on XP, but I would bet you just haven't hit problems on it yet. I bet the client tier works OK!

thanks Eric for your valuable comment, I totally agree with you, DS Server is supported in Windows 2003/2008 Server only.
But I have a machine host XP on which DS Server is working well but in second, this is the problem.

Do you have any idea why this error is come up or what should be the solution for this ???

Most likely the reason is that any unsupported OS lacks required features so there would be expected issues with that combination. The solution is to install the server on a supported OS.

If your other server is truly fully functional on XP, then I suppose you could attempt to clone the whole thing (OS and server software) to another computer. I would not recommend it. The bottom line is that it's not supported by IBM.

I installed IIS 8.5 and IIS 8.7 on XP Pro. SP3 and both are working fine... so it seems that you CAN install on XP Pro

There was never any statement as to being unable to install in XP. IBM does not support Information Server on an XP platform, except for the client tier software. See the <a href="http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/inf ... nformation Server System Requirements</a>.

I for one am a little surprised it is working for some people as I thought there was enough of an internal architecture difference down where it matter between XP and the 'Server' versions that certain key functionality would be impacted. I know I've dealt with that issue with other software, made an assumption that would be the same here.

The problem with having an issue with an unsupported OS is the fact that because it is unsupported, the vast majority of us have never even attempted to install on it. So when it doesn't work or you "get some error" we have no idea what the heck might be going on, never mind the fact that you can't contact support for help with the issue.

So it's pretty much a crap-shoot. If it seems to be working, great, when it doesn't you are at the mercy of those who have seen the issue in the past and solved it. That would be a pretty small subset of the folks here, I would imagine.
