Don't change SHMALL at all unless you have more than 8GB of memory.

I recall getting that warning for 8.5 installs on AIX 6.1 and I had to ignore it and continue.

I don't recall getting the same warning on 8.7 on the same AIX 6.1 server.

I ignore above warning. I started continue the installation. unable to create
plugin db2 database. I think because of the above warning unable to create db2. Have you come across this issue?

No, I haven't. I had to ignore the DB2 warning to install 8.5, and it installed fine with DB2 and everything ran OK.

Check the Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide for recommended minimum kernel settings for your OS.
