Email- Error sending Mail

Post by DsInteg »

Hello everybody,
This my problem:
After finishing a sequence I'm trying to send a mail via Notification Activity.
I set the same info in outlook express and i can send and receive mails.
But when running the sequence this error occurs and the message is this:

SMTPMail Looking up server...
SMTPMail Opening connection to smtp.gawab.com...
SMTPMail RCV: 220 info3.gawab.com ESMTP
SMTPMail RCV: 250 info3.gawab.com
SMTPMail RCV: 250 ok

SMTPMail RCV: 553 sorry, you have to authenticate first to be able to use this smtp server, please configure your mail client ( outlook ) to authenticate for outgoing mail server (#5.7.1)

Thanks for helping me.

I think that you haven't received an answer to this question because the problem is not a DataStage one. If you were to use the command line interface to sendmail you would get the same error message, and it needs to be fixed by editing the mail configuration on the DataStage server machine.

I'd run this by the SysAdmin, whomever administers that system, to check how SMTP is setup on that server.

Dear ArndW,

Would u pls let me know how can I configure the mail configuration on DastaStage server machine???
I would like to know where can I configure the email setting in DS server machine.
Recently, we have Exchange server migration and now our DS job cannot send email. I always get the error as Invalid address.

No, Arnd can't do that, U can't do that, and I can't do that. Because each server is different.

Are you giving the correct SMTP server name in your new environment?

Sender address?

Please don't use "u" when you mean "you". I find it particularly annoying. And it gives those of our members whose first language is not English a wrong impression. We strive here for a professional standard of written English.
