What are your Oracle NLS settings and have you specified that correctly in the Oracle stage?

Hello ArndW,
well, i have set the NLS-parameter als listed above in the dsenv and after that started Datastage again. Those parameter appear in the Director Log as expected.
Sorry, i don't know where to specifiy such parameters in the Oracle Stage ...

What i wonder is especially, that i can see the "?" by using "View Data" in the Oracle Stage, so i would assume, that it is taken correctly from the database, or?

I hope, you can help me ...

This "?" you are seeing - is it a true question mark from the source or just the first symptom of a character set conversion error?

That is the typical way that an 'unknown' character is displayed - it can mean 'I have no idea what this character really should be'. Kind of like us shrugging our shoulders.

The y-umlaut character may be the way that Char(253) is being displayed.
