1. Help > About in any DataStage client.

2. As documented in the installation notes.

3. As documented in the installation notes.

4. All developers have their own perspectives. From my perspective there's not a whole lot (in an ETL context) that DataStage version 7.5 can not do.

5. No-one remembers that. Version 1.0 is dated November 1997. DataStage client is supported on most current 32-bit Windows variants. DataStage server is supported on most current 32-bit NT-based Windows variants (which have the ability to use NTFS file systems), most major UNIX variants (such as AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, etc.) and Red Hat and SuSE Linux. All of these have version compatibility requirements.

6. Each is an ETL tool. The difference is primarily one of approach/mindset. DataStage uses what I call "top-down" development whereas Informatica uses "bottom-up" development. Both should arrive at the same solution from the same specification.

Hi,
I think Ray has already mentioned in previous post that this forum is not intended to discuss 'Interview questions'.

You can get almost all of the information you requested ( except Q3 & 5 may be ) from:
1) IBM website and
2) Manuals.

Karthik,

Did you try google-ing for these answers?

Also, http://www.ittoolbox.com has very good posts with regards to your questions. Vincent McBurney and some other gurus have posted some excellent articles w.r.t the features, advantages and limitations (in their perspective). You can even find Published year and OS Support related details in one of the articles too. After you have gone through them, you will definitely get solutions to what you are looking for!
