I remember using a UNIX command to release jobs being hung by the Datastage Designer but I cannot find it in my notes.. Can anyone send me the command?

Thanks,

Baha

I don't believe that is valid (or prudent) to use with the 8.x release. :?

Log on to web console as ADMIN and then go to Administration -> Session Management -> Active sessions

See for your session and select it, click Disconnect option (on the right side)

You actually need a combination of techniques; you need to know the session ID of the session that owns the lock, otherwise you don't know which session to release in the IS administrator.

Baha,
For version 8, you can just delete the entry (locked job) in the XMETALOCKINFO table.

Ray, If Baha had only one designer client session open, then there would be only one session in web console with his User name, type as DS Designer etc. So he/she could directly select that session and disconnect.

Big If. We had no information as to whether or not that was the case. I have clients with as many as 75 developers; this is hardly ever the case with those!
