I want to use Oracle comp instead of ODBC to connet ORACLE

when i am using Oracle component instead of ODBC com to connet to ORACLE database it is generating error.Whats the critetria to use this Oracle component

The following is the error:

ds_loadlibrary: error in dlopen of Oraclei8.so -Id.so.1:dsapi_slave:fatal:
libclntsh.so:open failed: no such file or directory

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

But i have the file which i am accessing

Why don't you post the actual error so that we might attempt to assist?

Also, the 'criteria' is spelled out in the docs. Basically - Oracle client installed and dsenv edited to support Oracle.
