Hi all,
I have been using data stage tool for quite some time now.But am still not clear about its architecture.It would be great if any one suggest some books or links which might be useful.

Thanks for the informative link.

I have a query after going through this FAQ:

If eah project is a schema residing on Universe Database then how come DSParams is a file which can be read , copied etc.

Besides is there any way to query this repository for our needs as in if I want to query table related to job log , is that possible?

1. Why not? A project is simultaneously a schema, a directory and an account.

2. Yes you can. The DataStage command for listing column definitions is LIST.DICT, for example LIST.DICT RT_LOG
But not all of the column definitions for this database are published. This is a deliberate decision by the vendor. You can also use dsjob command line interface which has four options for working with job logs.

The DataStage engine is a copy of UniVerse that was cloned several years ago. The two versions have drifted apart as many elements of UniVerse that are not required for DataStage have been removed and other aspects modified. But the base products are still very similar. IBM has bought the product and they have placed the complete suite of documentation on the following pages:
