You can find gazillions of awk scripts online. Even awk one liners. If you search on awk here, you will find quite a few examples.

Why in the world butcher your original post like that, or change the subject from 'awk' to 'u'? :?

There really was no need for that. It's fine to come here with questions like yours about what awk is, just don't expect long involved answers when the subject isn't specific to DataStage. Best to link you off to better places specific to the subject.

Please reinstate the original post to something sensible. We have a poster called U on the forum (apparently it's a fairly common Burmese name- there was even U Thant, who was a Secretary General of the United Nations) who may be offended by what you've done.
