Hi,

We are evaluating DS8.0 with QS 8.0
Got some queries

1. Will QS 8.0 come already integrated in DS 8.0 ( 6 QS Stages - I read somewhere).
2. IS QS better integrated wit DS 8.0 that DS 7.5? Detials of integration.
3. Would it be better to have the the DS and QS servers setup on the same box.
4. If we dont buy QS, will the 6 QS which (it seems) have been made part of DS , come as part of DS.

Please let me know your views on this.

Thanks in Advance

QualityStage is fully implemented as stages within DataStage 8 so you don't get the option to install them on different servers. You could probably do something with the config files if you wanted to make parts of a cluster or grid specialise in Quality functions like matching. QS 8 and DS 8 are fully integrated. In version 7 they are partially integrated with separate metadata repositories and GUIs.

There is a 7.5 version of QualityStage, so you definitely would not get version 6. Version 7.5 can be called from DataStage 8.0, but only via the plug-in stage in server jobs; you can not use the new DataStage/QualityStage Designer to design version 7.5 QualityStage jobs, nor benefit from the "automatic" (service based) tools such as watching the histograms change in real time as you alter the cutoffs.
QualityStage does not "come with" DataStage; it remains separately licensed - unless you but the license it's not activated.
