Anybody has experiences to connect Progress Database from DataStage ?

Use special stage, or only ODBC stage.

By the way, if I need to set up an ODBC connection to the Progress Database, do I need to install some Progress client software or ODBC drivers..

Years ago I did it using an ODBC driver on DS 4.0 for Windoze. You'll have to set it up on the DataStage server under System DSN like the others. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

You can also run Progress utilities to dump data into flat file formats (even initiating these utilities from DataStage) and process those files. This approach allows hierarchical structures to be unpacked.
