Mike, does the invocation ID get reused in your site?

When it's reused, it's fine. When they do not, that's when I see the garbage piling up.

All of our invocation ids are normally reused. Even the small percentage where I've noticed an invocation in Director with no log entries would have been reused (or will be reused again).

We've had our project-level auto purge on since day 1. I don't have any reason to believe that any of our developers has ever messed with a job-level auto purge, but I couldn't rule out that possibility.

Since we reuse invocation ids, the small percentage that I occasionally notice hasn't been a concern.

Ya, the issue happens when new invocation ids are used for each run, like adding a date yyyymmdd in the invocation id.
