Actually, I highly recommend going to them. One of the best aspects of IOD is Networking with your peers. The BoF tables are a lunch time chat with folks who are interested in a certain topic. My one bad lunch experience was just that. ONE.
Sign up, network with your peers, bring biz cards because you will want to chat with them in the future.

I have been to a couple birds sessions, I went to a business information exchange session last year. It was held at lunch time at a set of reserved tables in the giant lunch room. I like the bof sessions, you get to have lunch with people with a common interest and you do not get sent to the far reaches of the dining hall to sit at a random table. I think it's a good way to book your lunch breaks.
