Whose problem are we currently addressing, pagerakesh's or vinodhraj's? This is why we frown upon hijacking threads!

Replacing IPC stage with transformer improves the performance.
But if the records involved is very high, then it will result in abort of the job. I have heard about such problems which my friends encountered.

Abu - that sounds a lot like hearsay. I've implemented jobs using IPC with huge numbers of records without problems. The IPC stage can improve performance on jobs that don't have inteprocess buffering enabled, if that is turned on then IPC stages make no difference at all.
