The timezone environment variable TZ is currently not set

Post by abbhi »

i am getting below message as a info in my parallel jobs.
main_program: The timezone environment variable TZ is currently not set in your environment which can lead to significant performance degradation. It is recommended that you set TZ=:/etc/localtime in your environment.
Please let me know where this variable need to be defined and what is this variable. Is it affecting any performance of my environment ?

Thanks,
Abhishek

TZ is Time Zone. Talk to your UNIX Administrator about setting it. It is hard to imagine how not having it set could degrade performance, but I suppose anything is possible.

Or, if your UNIX Administrator can't/won't do it, add the following line to your dsenv file.

Code: Select all

 TZ=:/etc/localtime ; export TZ
