while opening transformers stage properties I have encountered the below error message
"(40503) A call to an OLE server has failed , or a runtime error occurred within the OLE server itself"
After debugging I have noticed the issue is started after installing MS Outlook 2013.
Looks like the ole objects dlls installed by datastage has been overwritten by new MS Office Outlook 2013.
resolution : I have reinstalled the client and it worked.
have to dig more to find what exactly is updated by MS office Outlook on my machine . I will post findings here

Any update?
Any update on this? I'm not able to launch DataStage Director or DataStage Manager since I updated my machine with Office 2013. I would like to not have to re-image but this seems to be where I'm going.
