Actually, it's not.

You problem is different so off it goes to its own post. I did link you back, however, so people can see the command in question.

If you have command line access to wherever the DataStage client is installed, then the answer should be 'yes'.

Yes. You can't just type the command from anywhere, you have to be aware of what directories are in the PATH defined on the server before you try something like that. Simplest thing if you are new to the command line is to find the directory where diffapicmdline lives and launch the command from there.

Also note that you need to know where the DataStage client is installed, not the server which means not a Linux box but a Windows box.

Yes you need to go to the folder where and you need to make sure you are running it on the computer where client is installed, not the server.

Once more - that command is part of the DataStage Client. The client only works on Windows. That Windows box is where you'll find the command. And that box will be the Citrix server.

I'm curious why you're not just running this from the menu. The original poster was "writing a batch script to loop through some list of jobs and execute the diffapicmdline.exe command", what is your goal?

Hi - I have around 1000 jobs to do a compare which would need a batch process do to which is more time efficient.

My Datastage is installed in Linux and accessing it via CITRIX, so I am curious to know whether this command will be executed in the Linux server where the Datastage is installed ?
