Can I install IIS 11.3 co-resident with IIS 9.1.2?

Post by kmsekhar »

Hi,

Currently I've IIS 9.1.2 installed in Windows Server, Is it possible to install IIS 11.3 version in same machine? Will multi-client manager will work for 9.1 & 11.3 versions?

I've gone through few IBM links, for windows we need to uninstall previous versions it seems. Could you please provide your inputs on this.

Best to ask your official support provider. That version is too dang new and restricted to a DB2 repository for now so not much experience with it out in the wild, I would imagine.

I recall reading in the 9.1 docs that Windows servers can't run multiple servers. You could check the 11.3 docs to see if it has the same restriction.

Eric - If the 9.1 documentation says Windows won't support multiple servers then you've answered his question... Doesn't matter what 11.3 supports if 9.1 breaks.

Multi-client manager is only used to support multiple clients (hence the name). It does not have anything to do with multiple server installations (sometimes called itag installations).

Yes, we can't preserve existing version of DataStage and can't install 11.3version, please find below link.

I mentioned multi-client manager because, if at all if we were able to install two versions in same windows machine can multi-client will work? Since, we can't install in windows so no meaning to it :)
