COMPARE TWO PROJECT: PROD AND TEST

Post by sangi1981 »

Hi all,
is there a tool in Datastage or in Information Server to compare all the jobs of two project?
If not, is there some workaround or good practice to achieve the same result?
Thanks in advance,
Sandro

You can compare ONE job across projects. There is no tool that will do them all. Some will suggest exporting the jobs from each project and comparing the DSX files with a command such as diff.

I have found win diff to be good at comparing export files, it might be easier to compare a category at a time since it is no good if the files go badly out of alignment. You can also do a search on modification dates to spot suspicious job edits.

Yah, if you have an 'intelligent' comparison tool you might have better luck. I own a perpetual license for UltraCompare which is quite nice.
