Why Stage Variables are not accepting "_" characte

In Datastage why the Stage Variable is not accepting "_" ?

Even Shared Containers name too!

Dose any one know the real reason ?

How it will make difference if it accepted, as it is just a name of the variable?

Q:If it is just a name why i should bother?
My A: It will be easy to map it to the respective column
