DS_AUDIT not updated

Post by mandalea »

Hi,

As per my understanding 'DS_AUDIT' can be used to track audit information on datatstage job. However I have modified a job using 2 different user ids but none of this information ( DTM, MODFIER) is updated in DS_AUDIT. Am I missing some step? I have used following query to get the information. 'SELECT INSTANCE, DTM, MODIFIER , REASON FROM DS_AUDIT WHERE INSTANCE = <jobname>

Regards
Anand

That certainly was the place to check in the pre 8.x world, not so sure it can be counted on any longer. Perhaps there is an XMETA equivalent you can query?

They have stopped using DS_AUDIT. Definitely.

OK, verified. Any idea if there is an XMETA equivalent or have they migrated that functionality elsewhere in the suite?

Well, date/time modified is displayable and, indeed, searchable (Advanced Find) so presumably it's in XMETA somewhere!

does any one has more information about this? I am trying to enable the Audit trail and later get the details about who did what. If you can point me to the document or some link which shows how to enable audit trail, that would be great help.

Thank you
GH.

The structures and models used in XMETA are deliberately undocumented.

so it means there is no way to get the Audit trail for 8.x versions? Or it is something we have to explore on our own and get the data?

Thank you for you help so far.

The latter. Unless, perhaps, your official support provider can provide the details?
