deleting lock records from xmetalockinfo table

Post by Terala »

Hi,
We have had some issues with user locking their jobs frequently.
From console we are not able to see the locked sessions, cleanup resources also does not show any process associated with that locked job.
DS-TOOLS also did not help either. The only way is to delete the record from xmetalockinfo table Or maybe running the cleanup_abandoned_locks.sh script.

How are other users/admins dealing with this issue? Is it safe to delete all records of xmetalockinfo table?

Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

Prefer the script. It only destroys abandoned locks. Other locks are there for a reason - protecting some object.

Can we run this script when there are slave connections or any jobs running?

Yes. It only releases abandoned locks. But if you want to be more cautious, don't.
