Information Center for Information Server v8r1
But why? Version 8.5 is way less buggy!

Hi Ray,

Your quick response to my post was a great help. We have the license for 8.1.0.1 version. And the Infosphere is set up and used on our Development environment.
But Now the time has come to setup the testing and Prod environments.
Hence we need to install the IS on the new Unix servers :
HP-UX ****** B.11.31 U ia64 0902080238 unlimited-user license

So I was gathering Info to get the servers ready as Upgrade to 8.5 version according to me needs some more Investment.

Your licence for 8.1 is good for 8.5.

Oh thats great news ray :D !!!

Then I wil ask the management to go ahead with 8.5 version.
But as the present Dev environtment is in 8.1v, will it not make much difference interms of coding for the developers and for me as an Admin between Dev and the new TEST/PROD envs??

Will it be easy for me? Please advise me in this regard so that I will make the final decision.

Thanks again for your valuable suggestions.

Anything developed in 8.1 will run successfully in 8.5. (The reverse is not true.) Do consider upgrading your development environment at about the same time.
