Wheneve we need to perform updates on OS level. we used to bring down the Information Server 8.1 on Solaris first mannually following the steps provided by IBM, then the Unix System Administrator would shut down the server at OS level.
Recently, we realized when Unix System administrator shut down the server at OS level, the Information Server was brought down. When the System administrator start the server at the OS level, the Information Server was brought up automatically. It is very convenient in this way. I am wondering there is any cons by doing this way. Thank you very much!
What is a proper way to shut down the Information Server
