Ascential DataStage (v ?) -> WebSphere 8.0 -> InfoSphere 8.1

VMark Software brought out version 1.0.
They went through a merger with Unidata to form Ardent Software. Versions 3.0 through 5.2.
Ardent was in turn acquired by Informix Corporation.
Informix sold all its database products to IBM in 1999/2000 and renamed itself Ascential Software. Versions 6.0 through 7.5.
Ascential Software was acquired by IBM in 2005. IBM initially included DataStage 7.5 (and associated products) under the WebSphere brand. This continued for version 8.0, the first on the Information Server platform.
IBM moved all these products to the new InfoSphere brand with effect from version 8.1.
To find out more, search the internet - it's all out there. One plan would be to look for product release announcements.

That was very descriptive Ray.gooogle wrote:Which one came 1st WebSphere or InfoSphere ?
Also can you name some important ones along with version numbers ?
Thanks
Also, to the OP, may I suggest looking for this in ITToolBox.com where Vincent McBurney had a post regarding all the releases for DataStage (server as well as PX/EE).

Did you get a chance to read Ray's earlier comment to your question? Please do so...gooogle wrote:I was talking to someone and I am not exactly sure if I am right:
