Different ways of monitoring level or steps that can be done in DS admin?

Would you use a wrench to fasten a screw? Use the correct too for the job. In this case, the correct tool is Director.

You can see if the job is still running at the OS level. If you have a lot of jobs then you could use

dsjob -report XML

You would need a xsd file to quickly display it but Ray is correct the best tool is Director.
